Intact HCG is two subunits, alpha and beta, assembled as a glycosylated heterodimer.[1][2] The alpha subunit is shared with other glycoprotein hormones. The beta subunit is what makes the molecule HCG. That is a different object from a 10- or 28-residue research peptide.
