What is Cagrilintide + Semaglutide?

The cagrilintide + semaglutide blend is two ligands in one research vial: cagrilintide (AM833), a long-acting amylin analogue, and semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist.[1]

Tetrava Labs sells this cagrilintide-semaglutide blend as a lyophilized research peptides reagent for dual-pathway metabolic assays, not as CagriSema and not as a branded pen. Research use only. Not for human or veterinary consumption.

Cagrilintide + Semaglutide Peptide Research

Two mechanisms, not one dual agonist

Cagrilintide is an amylin analogue. It is not a GLP-1 agonist. Semaglutide is the GLP-1 agonist in the pair.[1] A cagrilintide semaglutide vial therefore asks an amylin-plus-GLP-1 question with two molecules, two receptor families.

That is a different design from a single-chain dual agonist. If the protocol needs amylin-receptor pharmacology next to GLP-1-receptor pharmacology, the blend is a convenience lot. If the protocol needs one molecule that hits GIP and GLP-1, it is the wrong vial.

Cagrilintide is not a GLP, and the blend is not tirzepatide

Is cagrilintide a GLP? No. Cagrilintide is an amylin analogue. Semaglutide is the GLP-1 component. Calling the blend a GLP erases half the mechanism.

Is cagrilintide FDA approved? Also no. CagriSema is an investigational Novo combination name, not an approved finished drug, and not this catalog blend. Ozempic is a branded semaglutide product. Two powders in one RUO vial are not a pen, and they are not tirzepatide, which is one GIP/GLP-1 molecule.

The Enebo 2021 phase 1b combination study

Enebo, Berthelsen, Kankam, and colleagues ran a randomised, controlled phase 1b trial of multiple doses of cagrilintide given with semaglutide 2.4 mg, reading safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics.[1] That paper is about concomitant administration of two defined clinical-program materials, not about an unlabeled research blend.

Use it to justify a combination-pharmacology question: amylin analogue plus GLP-1 agonist in the same protocol. Do not copy the trial's product, device, or escalation schema onto this SKU. Later CagriSema programs sit outside this page unless a lot-linked paper is in the reference list.

Cagrilintide vs semaglutide vs tirzepatide

Cagrilintide vs semaglutide is an amylin-receptor question versus a GLP-1-receptor question. The blend holds both ligands. Cagrilintide vs tirzepatide is a worse mix-up: tirzepatide is a single GIP/GLP-1 dual agonist, not an amylin analogue and not a two-vial combination.[1]

Pick the arm from the receptor list. Amylin plus GLP-1: this blend. GLP-1 only: standalone semaglutide. GIP plus GLP-1 in one chain: tirzepatide. Do not treat those three as interchangeable metabolic reagents.

Buying a cagrilintide-semaglutide blend with a COA

A cagrilintide-semaglutide blend needs two identities on one chromatogram. One purity number for the vial is not enough if the method cannot resolve both peaks. Tetrava lists 5 mg and 10 mg blend vials.

Confirm cagrilintide and semaglutide on the same lot Certificate of Analysis. Lot on the vial matches lot on the PDF. No CagriSema, Ozempic, or tirzepatide branding on an RUO blend.

Storage and lot notes

The blend ships lyophilized. Store sealed vials at -20 C. Log both identities, the diluent lot, concentration, date, and operator against the batch COA.
